Open Stage at Q-Records

Information for Guests / Audience

Expect around five hours of live music in a relaxed atmosphere. Entry is free, and a hat will be passed around for voluntary contributions. Drinks available at the bar include wine, beer, long drinks, soft drinks and coffee.

Information for Musicians

Whether you’re a singer-songwriter, a duo, or a small band, this Open Stage gives you the chance to perform live, whether with your own songs or covers. I provide the equipment, handle the sound, and host the evening.

Schedule & Preparation

Each performance slot is about 15 minutes, including setup and teardown. This is usually enough time for a quick line check and roughly three songs. Simple, efficient setups help keep the evening running smoothly.

If you’re bringing your own equipment, please register in advance via the website and arrive at least 15 minutes before the event starts so we can check levels together.

Technical Notes

• Acoustic Guitar

  • The easiest setup is to use one of the provided guitars: the steel-string acoustic (Yamaha CSF-TA) or the nylon-string guitar (Musical Cuenca).
  • If you bring your own, it must have a pickup.

• Piano

  • A stage piano (Yamaha P-95) is available for use.

• Drums / Percussion

  • A full drum kit isn’t possible due to space and time constraints.
  • A cajón is available.

• Electric Guitar / Bass

  • Please do not bring your own amps.
  • Bass can be connected directly to the High-Z input of my mixer (Behringer XR18).
  • Effects can be used via your own pedal or modelling board.

• Microphones

  • Three vocal microphones with stands are provided (2× Shure SM58, 1× Shure Beta 58).
  • You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

• Other

  • A music stand is available.
  • The piano also has a built-in stand.

Recordings Each set will be recorded as a multi-track, capturing each mic and instrument on a separate track. This allows me to mix a professional recording afterward, which I can send to you on request. Nothing will be released without your explicit permission.

Registration / Spontaneous Performances All fixed slots are assigned by registration only. There will likely be opportunities for spontaneous performances later or between sets, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Additional Notes The order of acts will be announced on-site and may change during the evening due to cancellations or technical issues.
